Romantic manor house wedding at Derwent Manor Hotel in Northumberland – Becca and Kristian

I'd been looking forward to Becca and Kristian's laid back, winter wedding for ages!

Becca and Kristian got married in February at the beautiful Derwent Manor Hotel, which is a stunning hotel in Allensford, Northumberland. They had their ceremony at the same venue as the reception, which was great, because having everything in one venue meant more time for drinks. They chose Derwent Manor Hotel, because it’s so cosy and relaxed and they just fell in love with it. It was a laid back wedding, which was perfect as it matched their personalities. I love shooting weddings at Derwent Manor Hotel, because the grounds are just incredible and the food is absolutely delicious.

Getting ready

Becca got ready in one of the Derwent cottages with her man of honour, Stephen, and her bridesmaids, and the atmosphere was so calm. Becca is a beautician who I've worked with at numerous weddings but she enjoyed the chance to be pampered for a change. The bride then walked the short distance to the ceremony. Kristian got ready right next door so strict 'no peeping' rules were in place to stop him catching an early glimpse of his bride to be.

The ceremony

The wedding itself was a legal ceremony in a beautiful room in Derwent Manor. During the ceremony they had their beloved dog Calloway there with them. It was such a personal service and their wasn't a dry eye in the house.

After the ceremony

They had a drinks reception in the venue bar in the afternoon, then the meal and speeches were back into the ceremony room. Followed by a party in the evening. They decorated the venue with handpicked ornaments and flowers that Becca had souced herself. For dinner they had a slap up 3 course meal, which was loved by all the guests (and me). The first dance was a romantic slow dance to God only knows byt the Beach Boys, and was followed by a father daughter dance before the party really started.

The couple

Becca and Kristian met in a Sunderland nightclub, when Kristian offered her a shot and have been together for over 8years. They got in touch with me after I worked with Becca on a wedding and their enquiry was really touching. They said they wanted a relaxed photographer, and I thought it was awesome that they love dogs as much as me.

Becca and Kristian’s wedding was so chilled and had such a fun atmosphere. Enjoy having just a small window into their amazing day!
